Sat, July 14, 2007,9pm - Sky Sunset on Way to Winnipeg

With only 29 mins left of computer juice, I had to quickly write and share the exquisite sight I am witnessing on the plane from Salt Lake City to Winnipeg: A sunset from the sky; backdropped by grey clouds, a strip of pink, as bright as my poster, streaks the sky and melds into orange flame. I am above the sunset, and bowing to its beauty. Light bleeding through darkness, and reflecting on a serpentine lake below. An incandescent, and ever deepening fushia now appears; a burning lake in the distance. It seduces me into imaginings of submerging my body into its pink-fire glory, and enlivens my heart at the mere thought. A still transforming wash of light-dark bursting eye-necture . A mutating gallery of sky light shifts. A bliss-reel of sky song. Slowly dissolving now...but its grace trail stains my being.

Sunday, July 15, 2007 - Winnipeg (prefringe)

glad I arrived here early. Got to land. had a chilled day woke late. hour of yoga. cup of tea. drove with Alan (donna's boyfriend) down to the exchange district (the fringe area) and got bearings and jogged my memory from being here 10 years ago (weird how it comes flooding back). then went to safeway and spent $60 on groceries. back to house for late breakie, more tea, and honey waxing (fucked up first batch and had to do a second batch). Donna woke and left for work (she works nights as a nurse - really nice lady). I showered, got dressed and was going to ride the bike down to fringe site, but couldn't open garage to get bike, so ended up walking 45 mins there. a soca reggae festival was happening in market square (same place where fringe outside stage and beer tent will be). I wondered around and put up some posters until my tape ran out. Then walked 45 mins back, although my feet were killing me.... just got home - about 10.30pm. gonna do a little work, have something to eat and cuppa tea. and then to bed, so can rise early and go to printers to get big posters (the fringe area is already filling up with posters!). then after more postering and hopefully checking into fringe office, gonna meet with my tech around lunch time to go over couple of things. then tech rehearsal 6-9pm. next 24 hours pretty planned out...
